AI

Tools, not magic wands.

I use AI every day. I built a product on it. I teach it. And I still think the judgment is the part you're paying for.

I built with it.

Enid is the tool I use to take a first look at a company. It reads what's public across eight areas and scores what it finds.

I designed how it scores and what it looks for. A small development team built it with me. More than 40 companies have been through it since March 2025.

I run on it.

Research. Call notes. First drafts. The connecting-up work between tools that used to eat my week.

I'm one person. This is how one person does what used to take a small team. And it's why a client gets me on the work and not a junior.

I teach it.

Hands on, in the room, with people's real work open on the screen. A session with the coaches and staff at Belmont University Athletics at their August 2025 retreat. Mortgage brokers. Founders.

No slides about the future. What do you do all day, and which part of it can this take off your plate.

Who does what

The machine reads. I decide.

Gathering. Reading a lot, fast.
Knowing what matters to this owner, right now.
Being consistent. Same eight areas every time.
Hearing what somebody didn't say.
First drafts. Something to react to.
Taste.
The boring middle. Moving information from one place to another.
Telling you the truth when it's awkward.

That second list is my job.

What I won't do with it

Hand you a report and disappear.

Use anything that isn't already public.

Pretend the machine made the call.

“You're actually talking through using agentic AI to help human in the loop, versus the consistent story of, oh, the agents are just going to replace everybody.”

Questions

What people ask about AI and brand work.

Can AI do brand strategy?

It can do the reading. It can't do the deciding. Strategy is choosing what to leave out, and that takes someone who knows the business and the people in it.

How should a small company start using AI?

Pick one job that's repetitive and annoying. Get that working. Then the next one. Most of the wins are small and boring, and that's fine.

Do you run AI workshops for teams?

Yes. Usually an hour or two, hands on, built around the work the team already does.

Will AI replace agencies or consultants?

It'll replace the parts that were just gathering and formatting. It makes the judgment more valuable, because now everybody has the same tools.
